AutoDia is a Perl application designed to allow the easy creation of XML diagrams from various data sources. The output is meant for use with Dia (or any XML parser). Unison is a file-synchronization tool for Unix and Windows. It allows two copies of a collection of files and directories to be stored on different hosts (or different disks on the same host), modified separately, and then brought up to date by propagating the changes in each replica to the other. Unison can deal with updates to both replicas of a distributed directory structure. Updates that do not conflict are propagated automatically. Conflicting updates are detected and displayed. Unison can communicate through a direct socket link or through an rsh/ssh tunnel. It uses network bandwidth efficiently. Changes: This beta release introduces three major new features: much faster update detection on Windows, local archiving of old versions of files, and file-level merging in case of conflicts, using an external merge program of the user's choice (ediff, vdiff, etc.).
round() だの floor() だの ceil() だのの関数は bits/mathcalls.h で定義さ れているようですが、floor() とかと違って round() は __USE_ISOC99 が define されていないと定義されないようになっているようです。 なんじゃこりゃ bits/mathcalls.h のバグか？と私も思ったのですが、よくよく 調べてみると round() は XOPEN とかでは定義されていない C99 から定義され た関数みたいです。 なので、結論としては普通に gcc 使ってて round() が定義されないのは正常な 動作であると思われます。 結構普通に使ってたりしましたが、実は標準化されていなかったのですね！ # gcc 3.x で gcc -std=c99 とかやれば round() もちゃんと使えるのでしょう。

VMD (Visual Molecular Dynamics) is designed for the visualization and analysis of biological systems such as proteins, nucleic acids, lipid bilayer assemblies, etc. It may be used to view more general molecules, as VMD can read standard Protein Data Bank (PDB) files and display the contained structure. VMD provides a wide variety of methods for rendering and coloring a molecule: simple points and lines, CPK spheres and cylinders, licorice bonds, backbone tubes and ribbons, cartoon drawings, and others. VMD can be used to animate and analyze the trajectory of a molecular dynamics (MD) simulation. In particular, VMD can act as a graphical front end for an external MD program by displaying and animating a molecule undergoing simulation on a remote computer. Awka is both a translator of AWK programs to ANSI C, and a separate library against which the C code is linked. The aims of Awka are to allow creation an executable that provides generally better performance than AWK interpretors, to allow easy inclusion of AWK logic in larger C applications, and use of external C functions within AWK scripts. Changes: Networking features introduced in Gawk 3.1.0 are now supported by Awka (causing change of license to GPL), and several other new Gawk functions have been added. A new and much improved hashing method has been adopted for arrays, Regular Expressions will execute a little quicker, and where possible Awka will track the datatype of variables to optimise performance.
Hexcurse is a versatile ncurses-based hex editor written in C that provides the user with many features. It currently supports searching, hex and decimal address output, jumping to specified locations in the file, an "undo" command, "bolded" modifications, and quick keyboard shortcuts to commands.

Thirty one layer TiO2/SiO2 optical filters with graded refractive index profiles were fabricated by helicon plasma sputtering at room temperature. Multilayer films were deposited on glass (BK7) and Si (100) substrates simultaneously and sequentially. The measured transmittance spectrum exhibited a reflectance of 99.8% at a central wavelength of 730 nm and high transmittance over the wavelength region outside of the reflected band as a result of the suppression of the sidelobes. The experimental transmittance spectrum corresponded almost completely with that calculated based on the optical multilayer film theory and using the measured refractive indices of TiO2, SiO2 and TiO2-SiO2 composite films. Transmission electron microscopic observations confirmed the expected microstructure of the filter.複数層を絞ってくるフィルタ。

About: cvs-nserver is the almost complete rewrite of network-related CVS code featuring security-critical code in separate executables, a clean authentication layer allowing virtual repositories running under a single system account with an unlimited number of virtual users, simple authentication modules which can authenticate against /etc/passwd, /etc/shadow, and PAM, and complete compatibility with existing clients. Changes: An annoying bug with 'cvspasswd' installation and a couple of typos have been fixed.

At the moment it reports duplicate files, bad symbolic links, troublesome file names, empty directories, non stripped executables, temporary files, duplicate/conflicting (binary) names, and unused ext2 directory blocks. About: Windows 9x Password List reader is a program that will allow you to see the passwords contained in your Windows pwl database under Unix. You can check the security of these files/try to recover the main password using the bruteforce mode. Changes: A processor detection routine was added. When used in bruteforce mode, giving a password now resumes the search at that place. Default alphabet files no longer contain spaces.

Partition Image is a Linux/UNIX utility which saves partitions in the ext2fs/ext3fs (the linux standard), ReiserFS (a new journalized and powerful file system) or FAT16/32 (DOS & Windows file systems) file system to an image file. The image file can be compressed in the GZIP/BZIP2 formats to save disk space, and split into multiple files to be copied on removable floppies (ZIP for example), ...sid に partimage というパッケージでありますな。
About: Courier is an integrated ESMTP, IMAP, POP3, and webmail server, designed to provide mail services with aggressive spam filtering. A mail filtering API defines site-wide and recipient-specific mail filters that are applied during mail transport, instead of only after the unwanted mail has already been received. Courier also includes a UUCP gateway, and a mailing list manager. Changes: The "webadmin" module now allows Courier configuration/administration to be done from a Web browser, and a separate webmail password file is no longer needed - changing the webmail password updates the "real" account password (in the LDAP directory, a MySQL table, or the system password file).
Changes: A fix for a problem manually creating machine accounts on a Samba PDC using the smbpasswd -a -m method; using the automated Windows tools to add machines into a Samba domain works with 2.2.1 and there is no need to upgrade unless you need the older functionality.

About: Source Code Uninstaller is a program to help uninstall (delete) files installed with the 'install' program. You need to patch and compile the install program from the file-utils package. Usually, configure and makefiles make use of the install program. When you install sources by typing 'make install', it is written to the SCU database file. Matter and antimatter just don't mix, so it's surprising that you can probe one with the other. A paper in the 6 August print issue of PRL reports the first results of a new microscope that uses positrons (anti-electrons) to create an image of a surface. The paper shows that positrons can see defects better than either optical or electron beam microscopes. Positrons also provide information about the type of defect present. The scanning positron microscope (SPM) may soon be available as a powerful tool for probing many different materials.(A. David et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 87, 067402. )
About: dot.conf is a simple configuration-file parser library written in C.
The configuration files created for dot.conf look very similar to those
used by the Apache Webserver. Even Container-Directives known from
httpd.conf can easily be used in the exact same manner as for
Apache-Modules. It supports various types of arguments, dynamically
loadable modules that create their own configuration options on-the-fly, a
here-documents feature to pass very long ARG_STR data to your app,
${NAME:-default} style environment variable substitution for arguments, and
on-the-fly inclusion of additional config files. Some behaviour can be
toggled with flags at runtime. To keep dotconf from printing out warnings,
you can install your own customized errorhandler.
Changes: Minor bugfixes to fetchmail. Rob Braun's remote-build change was corrected, since it broke the build with NLS. Found (and killed) a subtle SMTP protocol error that was probably lurking behind a lot of the bug reports related to bounce mail, thanks to Quoc Luu. (Only manifested when the MTA rejected mail due to a bad RCPT TO address.)

A simple (2+1) dimensional discrete model is introduced to study the evolution of solid surface morphologies during ion-beam sputtering. The model is based on the same assumptions about the erosion process as the existing analytic theories. Due to its simple structure, simulations of the model can be performed on time scales, where effects beyond the linearized theory become important. Whereas for short times we observe the formation of ripple structures in accordance with the linearized theory, we find a rough surface with scaling properties for intermediate times. The long time behavior of the model strongly depends on the surface relaxation mechanism.
